Dr. Muhammad Omar Niaz is a dental public health researcher, and academic who currently serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Community Dentistry at the Army Medical College, National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS), Rawalpindi. He earned his BDS from Army Medical College/NUST, a Master in Dental Public Health (MDPH) from the University of Sheffield, UK, and a Diploma in Dental Public Health (DDPH RCS) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and is pursuing a PhD in Public Health under a joint program of the University of York, UK, and Khyber Medical University, Pakistan. Over his career, he has held diverse academic and professional positions, including Head of Community Dentistry at Foundation University, Senior Lecturer at Rawal Institute of Health Sciences, Registrar in Prosthodontics at AFID, and Manager Verification (Licensing) at the Pakistan Medical Commission. His research covers oral cancer barriers, nanoparticle-enhanced dental adhesives, caries management, periodontal links to systemic disease, and systematic reviews in dentistry and public health.
